NSFA, Panacan, Davao City - Four New People’s Army member surrendered to Mayor Domingo Lim on November 29, 2 014, at Lupon, Davao Oriental.
The NPAs who voluntarily surrendered without firearms were identified as Jayson Mabaslay @ BEBOY, a Vice Team Leader, Richard Mabaslay @ COCOY, an element, Jennifer Mabaslay @ JENA, and Jocel Tejano @ JENNY medics and political guide respectively.
Earlier Jomar Mabaslay @ GILBERT a brother of @ BEBOY and @ JENA surrendered to 28IB last 22 Nov 14 and on November 28, 2014 a certain Rene boy C Nacion @ TOTOY surrendered to operating troops of 66IB in Sitio Yauri, Brgy Calapagan of Lupon, Davao Oriental.
Accordingly the six decided to surrender because of hardship and disillusionment in the NPA Bandit organization that has targeted civilians and non-military objective.
General Aurelio Baladad the Commander of Eastern Mindanao Command lauded the surrenders and called the other NPAs to follow.
“We are glad on the decision of these former NPAs to return to a peaceful and productive life. It is for this reason that we are again calling our deceived brothers to lay down their fire arms and live a peaceful life with their families an d avail of the livelihood and other assistance being offered by our government” Baladad said.
“For the year Eastern Mindanao Command have a total 442 surrenderees wherein those who surrendered with firearms were enrolled with Guns for Peace of the Armed Forces while those without firearms were enrolled in the Integration Program of different LGUs.” accounted Baladad.
Meantime the surrenderees are presently undergoing stress and psychological debriefing and processing by the government authorities.
