Public Storm Waring Signal (PSWS) no. 1 was hoisted over seven provinces as typhoon “Chedeng” (international name Maysak) passes over the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon including Polillo Island are under PSWS no. 1.
“Chedeng” has maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 170 kph.
At 4 p.m., the typhoon was located at 845 kilometers East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora and will continue to move West Northwest at 19 kph.
If the typhoon maintains its movement, Central and Northern Luzon will be affected by the weather disturbance tomorrow (April 4) until Sunday (April 5), PAGASA said.
After it is expected to make a landfall on Sunday morning, it will leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday (April 6).
PAGASA said that there is a minimal chance that “Chedeng” will get stronger.
