Hauling of 34IB troops
MORE Army soldiers have been sent Maguindanao, where the military is pursuing Moro fighters linked to the clash in Mamasapano in January.
The 34th Infantry Battalion (IB) of the Army's 8th Infantry Division arrived in the province from Samar, said Captain Jo-Ann Petinglay, the 6th Infantry Division (ID) information officer.
The 34th IB will reinforce the 6th ID, whose area of responsibility includes Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, parts of North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat.
Petinglay said government forces will set up camp in former lairs of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) to prevent the group's return.
The BIFF is one of several armed groups that clashed with police commandos who were after top terrorist and bombmaker Zulkifli bin Hir, alias Marwan. Marwan was eventually killed but the mission also took the lives of 44 Special Action Forces troops.
