LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines – Three soldiers were reportedly wounded in an encounter with suspected New People’s Army (NPA) guerillas in Alfonso Lista town, Ifugao yesterday morning.
Reports said soldiers from the Army’s 5th Infantry Division (ID), based in Isabela, were conducting outreach programs in the area when an undetermined number of rebels shot at them.
Aside from the three wounded, unconfirmed reports indicated that the government forces suffered a fatality in the firefight that erupted at around 7 a.m.
