CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City-- The AFP's Civil Relations Service handed over scholarship funds for the children of fallen heroes here today.
Brigadier General Romeo Gan, the CRSAFP commander, said that the funds were raised during the shooting competition that it organized in July 2014.
"This fund is generated from the recent CSAFP Cup 2014 that was organized by the AFP. We conducted the activity to ensure that we have steady flow of funds for the children of our fallen heroes," said Gan.
Maryjean Mejia,18, is one of the new scholars. She is currently taking BS Criminology at the New Era University.
"I would like to thank General Gregorio Catapang, the CSAFP for this wonderful project. I will try my best to finish college and become a productive citizen of our society," said Mejia whose father died in sn ambush in Isabela province 8 years ago.
The AFP EBSO is currently administering the scholarship of abot 4, 400 scholars all over the country. All of the beneficiaries are children of military personnel.
