Another suspected Abu Sayyaf bandit has fallen into government hands, the Philippine National Police said Wednesday.
In a statement, the PNP identified the suspect as Mobin Hailil alias Kahumbo, who was arrested in Barangay Sanga-Sanga, Bongao in Tawi-Tawi province around 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The police statement said Hailil was involved in kidnapping and killings in Mabbul Island in Malaysia.
At the time of his arrest, Hailil was found with a .45 caliber Colt pistol loaded with six rounds of ammunition, plus one MK2 grenade.
He was captured by joint members of the Special Action Force units, Regional Intelligence Unit-9, Air Force Intelligence Unit, and the Tawi-Tawi provincial police.
Hailil, the second suspected Abu Sayyaf member arrested this week, is now under the custody of the 5th Special Action Battalion.
Several Abu Sayyaf members have been captured by the police and military over the last few months, including ranking leader Khair Mundos, who was arrested with three others in Parañaque City last June.
