Thanks to the military and its kind-hearted private sector partners, the Aeta community in Barangay Sapang Uwak, Porac town, Pampanga will now get a chance to educate themselves in modern computer technology as they were made beneficiaries of a “computer literacy course.”
This was made possible after the Tuloy Foundation Inc. (TFI) and the LLL Holdings Inc. turned over a mobile 40-foot computer laboratory to the 702nd Infantry Brigade, a field unit of the Nueva Ecija-based 7th Infantry Division Thursday.
Philippine Army Military-Civil Operations Group public affairs office chief Capt. Gemira Dy said this donation will allow 702nd Infantry Brigade to provide “computer literacy courses” to Aetas and other underprivileged members of society in their areas of operation.
Dy said the computers and its associated gadgets are contained in a mobile 40-foot container van converted into a laboratory.
She added that the 40-footer mobile computer laboratory will serve as a vehicle for the strategic partnership of the Philippine Army and TFI in their educational outreach program.
After the completion of the two-week computer literacy course of some 20 members of the Aeta community, the 40-footer mobile computer laboratory will be transferred to another recipient barangay in Porac, where it will stay for another two weeks to serve another set of residents in the area.
