Two cops were murdered while 3 others were injured when their office in Matanao town, Davao del Sur
was treacherously attacked by NPA bandits at 4:30am today.
Soldiers belonging to the 39th Infantry Battalion were sent to pursue the bandits who fled after committing
the crime.
The attack came after a separate crime of arson committed by the bandits in Sitio Unlod, Punang,
Sofronio Espanola, Palawan at 10pm last night (March 9).
Two dump trucks owned by IPM Mining Firm were torched down by the bandits who were furious due
to their inability to collect extortion money from the said business firm.
It can be recalled that NPA bandits also attacked an ambulance carrying civilian emergency responders
in Bgy Managa, Bansalan town in the same province, wounding 5 people.
Government forces had been alerted against violent attacks perpetrated by NPA bandits in some parts
of the country.
Due to their dwindling number, the bandits are now carrying out attacks against small police outposts
and defenseless heavy equipment owned by legitimate businessmen.
